quick update: interview got rescheduled for sep 27th, so expect an update sometime after THAT date, not the 25th.

so like i said, my interviews tomorrow. just for fun ill quickly list everything im planning on buying, even though i will only be able to get half of my checks (and possibly only work on the fuckin weekends despite being in virtual school) because of the $700 truancy ticket i have to pay from last year. after doing some math, this will take about a year-year and a half to finish the setup, all things considered:

My reasoning for each purchase:

Boss DR-5: i need a drum machine with those DR660-esque sounds, i think the DR-5 is a worthy substitute to the actual 660 now that the 660 has soared insanely in price ($250 and up, wtf?). Plus the melodic section is pretty useful too, would pair well with my WK1800 or even as a master sequencer for the SU-10

Yamaha SU-10: Also need a sampler. This is about the most basic and cheap sampler you can get used short of a TE PO-33 like i had before (which has no MIDI, so its basically useless).

Tascam Porta02 MkII: Yep, its the same 4-track i had as my first one years ago. No bouncing, only 2 inputs for simultaneous recording (mono, btw), no effects sends, no faders for controlling volumes post-recording, NO FUCKING BOUNCING, and overall its only about a single step above what i consider the literal worst 4-track ever (Tascam MF-P01). I plan to record using the next entry as a summing mixer, and I plan to bounce using my Panasonic shoebox recorder (even though the input is kinda fucked).

Boss BX-600: 6-channel mixer with an effect send. Would work just fine for summing into the Porta02. Effect send would work with the very last entry. Not much else to say.

Alesis MMT-8: 8-channel master sequencer, perfect paired with the Quadra Thru (a 4-way MIDI thru box so i can send the signal to 4 whole devices, fitting with the DR-5, SU-10, and the future SR-16, and then an extra space for the WK1800???)

Quadra Thru: nothing to say here lol

Alesis SR-16: Secondary drum machine for the more realistic-esque sounds i guess. Percussions pretty good too.

Zoom MS-70CDR: Ive heard demos of this model, HOLY SHIT it sounds so good. Need it. Would work with the BX-600 aux send too, and the stereo input (2 separate mono ones) can essentially make it work as a dual-channel effects processor if i get that one hack for it.
